SEMI-PERMANENT GRAVEL RUNWAY
Extend your gravel runway surface life between 7 to 20 years.
The first and only semi-permanent gravel runway from the leading innovators in soil stabilization and dust control.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY YIELDS ADVANCED BENEFITS
Increases surface stiffness and uniformity
Midwest’s Semi-Permanent Gravel Runway System has been proven through field testing to increase runway surface stiffness and uniformity after continual use.
Unmatched performance in third-party laboratory testing
Third-party laboratory and field testing have demonstrated EK35’s performance is unmatched by the binderless synthetic fluid even when up to 3 times the volume of binderless synthetic fluid is used.
Increase runway CBR
Third-party laboratory testing performed on runway material has proven that Midwest’s Semi-Permanent Runway System can increase the CBR by over 200% when compared to untreated runway material. Third-party field testing performed on an EK35 treated runway using a Boeing Penetrometer demonstrated an average increase in CBR of almost 40% compared to untreated sections.
Third-party field testing has shown that EK35 remains effective at reducing dust emissions even after 4 years of aircraft traffic without re-application.
Midwest provides continual performance monitoring programs to ensure that your Semi-Permanent Runway is performing to its highest potential. These routine runway inspections are conducted by trained personnel and can include visual runway assessments, photographs, Dynamic Cone Penetrometer testing, stiffness testing, solvent extraction testing and silt load testing.
Creates pavement like surface
The result of Midwest’s Semi-Permanent Runway System is a pavement like surface that resists deformation and provides the required strength to land even the most demanding aircrafts.
